Reminders
Reminders before and after each review date, by email from your own mailbox and in Microsoft Teams.
Reminder days
Each site chooses when reviewers are reminded: for example 14, 7 and 1 days before the review date, then every 7 days while it is overdue, with one digest per reviewer. ExpiryPoint remembers which reminders each file has had, so nobody is reminded twice for the same step.
How emails are sent
Through Microsoft Graph, from the signed-in person's own mailbox, once a SharePoint administrator approves ExpiryPoint's single optional permission (Microsoft Graph, Mail.Send, delegated) in the SharePoint admin centre under Advanced, API access. Nothing is sent through Apps 365. How to approve it.
A site owner can choose Send reminders now at any time; the emails then come from that owner's mailbox. With automatic reminders switched on, ExpiryPoint sends what is due once a day, when a site owner opens the dashboard.
Without the Mail.Send approval, ExpiryPoint still works fully for reviewing: it opens a pre-filled email for you to send yourself, and scheduled reminders can run through your own Power Automate flow.
Backups and escalation
When a review is overdue past the escalation days, the backup reviewer sees it in My reviews too, so a file never waits on one person.
Microsoft Teams and fixed schedules
ExpiryPoint runs as a Teams personal app, so reviewers can open their reviews in Teams. For reminders on a fixed schedule and Teams messages, even on days nobody opens ExpiryPoint, use the Power Automate recipe: a flow you own, in your own tenant, over the review register (a hidden list with one row per document: its due date, who it is due from and a link).
